About Festival
Discussion and dialogue are the basis for quality solutions and progress in society
The Lithuanian discussion festival BŪTENT! is the largest live intellectual discussion event in the country, aimed at fostering a culture of dialogue and active listening among society, decision-makers, businesses, and non-governmental organizations. It promotes discussions on the most important topics of national development and progress, encourages tolerance for differing perspectives, civic engagement, and aims to improve the quality of decisions that impact society.
The discussion festival is an open and free event.
The festival aims to become a space for building consensus, shaping opinions, and creating a shared national vision that will inspire real solutions in business and politics.

Festival Principles
Discussion festival BŪTENT! follows the following 5 guiding principles
Respectful dialogue, Tolerance and Empathy.
Discussions are conducted respectfully, even when opinions differ, fostering a culture of constructive exchange. Differences in opinions and experiences are valued as essential elements of dialogue.
Openness and Inclusivity.
The festival is open to everyone, encouraging diverse participation and viewpoints.
Search for Solutions.
Critiques are paired with proposals for solutions, focusing on progress and collaboration.
Discussion Based on Arguments, not Authority.
Discussions are grounded in thoughtful arguments and evidence rather than relying on authority or power dynamics.
Active Listening.
Listening and understanding others’ perspectives are as important as sharing your own.
Festival Audience
For thoughtful, responsible, curious, and active individuals who care about the future of the country
The primary festival audience consists of urban residents (aged 25-45), educated, with children, earning higher incomes, and being civically engaged citizens of Lithuania. A significant portion includes decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and opinion leaders within society or communities.
Encouraging Family Participation
We encourage families to participate in the event together. For children aged 3 and up, we create a special, safe space for challenges, experiments, and experiences. Older kids will be invited to join mini-BŪTENT! discussions, presentations, and conversations. Different discussion areas tailored to children of different ages!
